Default Spells Wish List

I wish there are some spells that can turn the battle even more chaotic...

Maybe some Huge size AoE spells with dramatic cost and effect(both in look and battle).
Maybe some Straight Line effect spells (go straight and effect whatever it pass thru).
Maybe some creation ability like making a giant boulder to block some attacks or push down the hill in GvG.

Anyway... just listing ideas...
What are your thoughts?
(and please... spare the debate/argument/flame here... especially STAY ON TOPIC, if you think someone's idea is dumb and you got nothing good to say... then keep it to yourself, it is just a wish list/brainstorm)

maybe i was thinking of making a profession called builder which basically builds structures as skills, e.g make a tower for archers so they shoot faster and remain invincible against melee until tower is destroyed

Arena.Net said they didn't want anything coming from no-where. That's why Necromancers must use the dead to produce their minions and other effects. What would you kill to build towers? Ents?

As for huge, mega, AoE spells, not a good idea. Any idiot would learn to get everyone on the team to take them and then cast them all at once on an unsuspecting team for nearly instant victory. Boulders rolling down hills? Nope. Just weird. It would be sort of neat to shoot someone and watch it hit everyone behind him though. Hehe.

An AoE spell with a huge radius, but maybe not huge damage I can deal with.
Boulders rolling about? Nah.
I like the idea of a straight line spell. Preferably like an earthquake type thing, runs along the ground flinging people into the air and knocking the down. That would be pretty cool.

What about spells for other classes? These are all clearly elementalist, anyone have any other ideas?

Boulders: No.

Builder Profession: No; same reason as Weezer Blue.

"Huge AoE spell:" If the damage was minimal over such a large area, why would you want to use it? If there were any healers nearby, they'd just hit a Heal Area and the little bit of damage done would be restored. No to that one as well.

For Rangers at least, I'd like to see more Stances added, since, to me at least, they seem like the counterpart to the Warrior, at least in terms of physical attack and powerful armor. Too bad I haven't the slightest clue as to ideas of new stances to add.

I've been thinking about the idea that Primary-only characters should have some kind of "bonus" for following this path, and sacrificing any chance at a secondary profession. I think it'd be neat if, by the time they fight their way to Lion's Arch, they have an opportunity to learn a master spell from an exclusive Necro / Monk / Warrior / etc. trainer (perhaps there's a quest involved?). Said master spell would be a particularily powerful one, but with some important limitations, i.e. like the Rez signet, it only works once per mission, it can't be used in PvP, etc.

It'd be tougher to balance, because you'd still want it to be worth the trouble of foregoing a secondary and all the work it takes to earn it. But I still think it'd be an interesting idea to dangle. Suggested "bonus" skills:

Monk: "Font of Healing" -- For a short period of time, all party members including the Monk within a certain radius receive (moderate) recharges to both health and energy. Emphasis on short, since it's a hefty spell and one should be forced to use it strategically (i.e. you can only use it once, so time it optimally). It wouldn't be useable in PvP (or, alternately, the benefit would extend to both allies and foes?).

Warrior: "Strength of Will" -- We've seen it in movies before, where the hero gets shot seven, eight times and still defies death by clamboring to his feet. Say, if a Warrior is brought to the point of death within the duration of the spell, his health and energy are reset to 1/3 of his max. to give him one more dramatic surge (at which point the skill ceases). Warriors have a tendency to sacrifice themselves regularily for the party's sake. Let's give the dedicated ones their due.

Ranger: I was debating about some kind of nature summons, but with the talk of a stealthy character elsewhere, what about "Invisibility?" Of course, shrewd players would still be able to discern footprints, any disturbances in water would be detected, and animal-type characters would still be able to follow the character's scent, but for normal human-types, a ranger could get away with quite a lot. Just musing, on this one.

Necromancer: "Bone Dragon" -- Now wouldn't that be a sight? A tattered bone dragon rises from an exploited corpse and attacks nearby foes for only moderate damage -- but that damage serves to recharge either the Necro's health or energy. As with other minions, there is a decay rate.

Mesmer: "Possession" -- That's supposed to be a Mesmer's objective is mental domination, and yet Mesmers never really get to do that. Possessed enemies will target and attack whoever the Mesmer targets. This would work only on foes in PvE / Missions, not party members, allies like Rurik, enemies who make up the ultimate objective in a mission, etc. There's a time limit, and woe to any undefended Mesmer when the spell disipates.

Elementalist: "Chaos Storm" -- A powerful storm (lightning, ice, flame, etc) rains down on enemies within a certain radius, something rather dramatic-looking. The radius should be small, but moves to whoever the Elementalist targets and with a decent duration.

Okay, now you's all can start shooting them down as too unbalanced for the game. But I'd be curious to see if there'd be a good way to do it.

*Added*
Hmm. I'm looking at these and thinking instead of max. once per mission, maybe once per game day. Even so, I think they'd be cool enough for folks to want to experiment with Primary-only builds, giving a new dimension to the game.
